The Pirates Parrot
Community Visits Non-profit guest appearances
Did you know that the Pirate Parrot is available for public appearances at no cost?  There are some criteria that need to be met, but as long as it is a non-profit event, a short visit from the Pittsburgh Pirates's mascots, and it can be scheduled, the Pirate Parrot may come and visit your event.
Buccaneer
Short Lived 1995 Season
Simply a man dressed in pirate's garb, the Buccaneer was a secondary mascot for the Pittsburgh Pirates for the 1996 Season.  That is, he was until the portrayer was caught skinny dipping in a closed public pool during the 1995 All-Star break.
Captain Penncy Parks
Introduction 2006.05.26
After sinking the Astros 12-5, the Pirates introduced the as-yet-unnamed mascot to join the fan-favorite Pirate Parrot.  He is planned to be integrated into the Sunday Kids Days and other community and marketing initiatives.
What's in a Name? 2006.06.06
The first marketing and interest generating ploy is to name the scruffy bearded buccaneer in cooperation with the Trib Total Media newspapers.  The winning child will be invited to PNC Par during Kids Day on 2006.06.18 to watch the Pirates play the Minnesota Twins.  #25 of the Aliquippa Cardinals has a name in mind and has submitted his idea to the Pittsburgh Pirates.
